The Youth Leadership Corps was born out of the desire for increased participation among youth and more avenues for meaningful intergenerational interaction. APIA Vote-Michigan believes that youth are valuable contributors to the civic process and are vital for fostering greater civic participation, advocacy, and education among the greater Michigan APIA Community.

Why Should I Join the Youth Leadership Corps?Members of the Youth Leadership Corps gain the valuable opportunity to improve their leadership skills, earn community service hours, and learn about key issues that affect the Asian Pacific Islander American community. Our goal is to create the next generation of socially-conscious and intelligent APIA voters who can not only make informed decisions at the polls, but also educate others and potentially be inspired to being their own political careers.

The Youth Leadership Corps does not just "work" all the time. We also hold social events to strengthen bonds between our members, who come from all over Michigan. Some of our past and pending events include laser tag, bowling, movie trips, field trips, and ice skating!
