Meet Our Staff: Nadia Alamah
Combine a love of storytelling, a passion for community engagement, the desire to explore old bookstores and some internet cats, and Nadia Alamah will appear! Formerly a writing and English Language Learner tutor, Nadia has often spent her spare time engaged in the creation of various community arts workshops and activities. Nadia is an alumnus of University of Michigan-Flint, having earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a Writing Specialization. At various points she has directed and written fundraising grants for an arts and cultural festival in Flint, MI; and she has also served as a submissions reader for both a separate grant program through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and for QUA: Literary and Fine Arts Magazine. A second-generation Lebanese Muslim American, Nadia grew up surrounded by an international community of aunties and uncles who showed her that kindness and compassion are the ultimate values to strive for in life; she hopes to carry on their legacy through her actions and work.
