Meet Our Staff: Oshin Bailey
Oshin Bailey immigrated to the United States in 2001 from Jamaica. She grew up in Pontiac,
MI and first attended Oakland Community College, where she received a liberal arts degree. Oshin continued her education at Wayne State University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. She is currently working toward her Masters in Social Work at Wayne State University. Oshin has a background working at Community Housing Network, where she worked with individuals and families that were homeless, at risk of homelessness, and/or facing other crises. She is currently a service coordinator with HOPE, an organization that also works with the homeless population. Oshin’s ultimate goal is to bring awareness and to advocate for the immigration population in the United States. As a current intern at APIA-Vote MI, she believes that she is gaining insight into working within the immigrant population, and she is excited to help bring awareness to the Asian and Pacific Islander community in Michigan.
